Aims and objectives
CAD CAM allows for a practical and reliable method of ensuring excellent, indirect restorations in many clinical situations.
Learn how to process chair-side restorations seamlessly in a single visit with technology that will amaze your patients.
In this unique course you will learn CAD CAM scanning and designing techniques whilst using and comparing multiple scanners, milling machines and 3d printers.
You will understand and learn the nuances of each system and have extensive hands-on experience in the practical application of CAD CAM technology.
Day 1- Scanning, designing and milling restorations
Discuss available digital impression and CAD CAM technologies
Understand how preparation design affects the fabrication of milled restorations
Plan and design CAD CAM single tooth restorations
Understand the materials available for chairside milled restorations
Become familiar with workflows to implement CAD CAM technologies into your practice
Workshop exercises
Take digital impressions of prepared teeth
Scan, design and mill an all-ceramic restoration
Explore features of current digital systems and software
Intra-oral digital impressions of a single unit inlay and crown
Digital design and fabrication of a single unit implant borne restoration
Day 2- Digital Implant dentistry
This day will focus on the rationale for utilising intra-oral scanning in implant dentistry. Topics for discussion will include types of scanners, workflows involved in utilising acquired data and clinical techniques relevant to best utilise the technology. We will discuss and demonstrate single, multiple and full arch reconstructions.
This will include a hands-on component for participants to become familiarised with scanning software and intra-oral protocols to achieve the best outcomes.
Diagnosis and Treatment Planning Through Software – We will explore and demonstrate various software packages. Delegates will have an opportunity for hands on tutored experience
Day 3- Printing 3d study models, surgical guides and manufacturing clear aligners
Fundamentals of Printing – Considerations in technologies, applications and underlying techniques for creation of Surgical guides for implant placement, restorative guides, virtual wax ups, temporary restorations and clear aligners.
This will include a Tell Show Do style tuition on software. We will discuss decision making in all aspects of pre-operative planning. Learn how to design the proposed smile, fabricate digital models and manufacture multiple aligners utilising 3d printing technology (including all laboratory stages).
Topics for discussion include 3d printers to be used in your clinic to create accurate digital models and appliances, workflows involved in utilising planning software to printing software and clinical techniques relevant to best utilise the technology.
This will include a hands-on component for participants to become familiar with 3D printing protocols to get the best outcomes using a range of the most commonly used and available 3D printers.
